Welcome, Dr. Alyssa Bentz to the Little Eyes Carmel family! Alyssa will be starting with us mid August 2026 and will begin seeing patients in September 2026.

Dr. Bentz graduated with high honors from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2025, earning both her Doctor of Optometry degree and a Master’s in Vision Science. She went on to complete a year-long pediatric residency at IU, where she gained extensive experience caring for children of all ages. Prior to optometry school, she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana Wesleyan University. Originally from Greenfield, IN and an alumna of Mt. Vernon High School, Dr. Bentz is excited to return to central Indiana and provide eye care to patients in Carmel, Fishers and the surrounding communities.

With a passion of working with kids and volunteering, Dr. Bentz was the President of Pediatric Optometry Club, President of Fellowship of Optometry Club, and Secretary for the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity Club while in school. She has participated in multiple service trips, both a student and doctor, to provide eye care and glasses to children in Jamaica, through the program See Better Learn Better. Her dedication to patient care, service, and merit earned her several honors, including the Good-Lite Pediatric Award, Jack Bennett Humanitarian Award, and Alice J. Bennett Merit-Based Award, and induction into Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society.

In her free time, Dr. Bentz enjoys hiking, baking, crafting, playing board games, and spending time with her family and friends. She is eager to meet you and looks forward to caring for all of your eye care needs.
